Course overview
Biochemistry bridges biology and chemistry by studying the chemical processes within living organisms. This course examines the structure and function of biomolecules such as proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, and nucleic acids, as well as the pathways that sustain life, including metabolism and energy production. Students will also explore enzyme kinetics, molecular genetics, and the role of biochemical processes in health and disease. Biochemistry is a foundational subject for careers in medicine, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical sciences.
